The new year is upon us, and I thought I would take this time to do a little overview of what’s coming up in 2026, both in terms of new book releases this year, as well as the projects I will be writing. I had so much fun writing multiple books in 2025, and I’m hoping to write even more this year.
But to start, let’s talk about the books that are coming out this year. I’ve already done a post with little synopses of each one, and you can find descriptions for all of them on my website and on Amazon—where you can pre-order the ebooks, as well.
The book I’m currently most excited about, of course, is Roll Play, which is coming out in exactly six weeks (February 13)! I love writing Malcolm’s book, after introducing him as a side character in Level Up. He’s one of my favourite characters I’ve ever written, and I especially loved getting to write his interactions with Evan’s preteen daughter, Cori. But you’ll have to read the book to find out if he’s ready to be the step-dad that she needs.
I think the book I’m most nervous about publishing this year is Side Quest, because it was a very “last-minute” book—meaning I wrote it less than a year before it is scheduled to be released. It wasn’t even a book that I had planned to write, but Caleb and Leo’s background appearances in Roll Play left my beta readers wanting to know more about them. I think I’m nervous about it, though, because Caleb is a very insecure person, including a lot of my own insecurities from when I was his age (or even now), so it’s personal in a way that feels vulnerable to share. But I’m also looking forward to putting it out there for people to read and enjoy.
My favourite of the books coming out this year, however, might be Get Lucky Charm. It was actually the first ever book for which I finished writing a full first draft. It was a terrible draft, but I did it. As such, it’s a bit strange, structurally, but I think it’s a lot of fun, and I’ve had beta readers say it’s their favourite, too. Chelsea and Ethan were characters that I poached from an old murder mystery I tried to write almost a decade ago, and they were the only thing about that story I liked. (I should have realized then that I really want to write romance.) I’m so glad to give them a story where their weirdness can shine.
So, if those books are already written, what am I working on this year, then?
I have a series I’ve started—affectionately known as the “corporate assholes” series when I share WIP snippets on Bluesky—about a group of guys who own a successful business, but struggle in their love lives, and end up falling in love with women who challenge them in various ways. A lot of them are workplace romances, often with a mild case of “forbidden love” or secret relationships, and there is some slightly darker subject matter—as well as a lot more spice—than my previous books. But they are still really funny and I’m enjoying writing them. I’ve got the first two roughly drafted, and the other two plotted out, and I’d like to get those done in the first half of the year so I can get them ready to publish in 2027.
And, now, I could leave it at that. Getting four books ready to publish for 2027 is a lot, and it means I’d have all of that year to write the next year’s books. But there’s a series I’d really like to try writing and I think it will take me a bit longer than usual, because it’s not a contemporary romcom series, like all the others. It’s a fantasy series—still romcom-esque—about immortal beings from another plane of existence who are worshipped as gods and rule their own realms as kings and queens. Each “God-King” has their own associated virtue—Madness, Luck, Vengeance, Desire, and Justice. And (almost) each of them fall in love with a mortal, because that’s what happens in romantasies, even if they are comedies.
I’m really looking forward to writing this series, even though it will be a bit of a departure for me. And it’s probably a bit of a risk to write something in a different genre, under the same pen name. But with all the bullcrap going on in the world of publishing these days, I kind of don’t care anymore, and I’m just going to do what I want. My aim in writing and sharing these books is not to make a ton of money but to make something I enjoy and hope that other people will enjoy it too.
Anyway, I didn’t realize I’d have so much to say today, but I’m really looking forward to all the books that will be released and all the books that will be written this year, and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
Here’s to a book-filled 2026!
